There are different the species of the family of the Pasifloráceas that yield eatable fruits, between them the fruit of the passion or passion fruit, of flavor lightly acidulous and very aromatic. Other climbing species of the same family are important like ornamental plants. The fruit of the yellow passion (P. Edulis flavicarpa) is of yellow color, in the shape of berry and with a sweet and sour flavor. The fruit of the purple passion (P. Edulis sims) purple is smaller and of color or resided. It is an original fruit of Central America. Brazil is possibly the biggest producer followed by Colombia, Venezuela and the whole Central America.
